Dr. Andrew Hisey - piano

Andrew Hisey is recognized across the United States and Canada for his innovative and inspiring work teaching people to engage with and make music at the piano. He has served on the piano faculties of the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio and St. Olaf College in Minnesota and currently teaches at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is an active soloist and collaborative performer and has been heard throughout the midwest and Canada. Dr. Hisey has presented, performed, or adjudicated in 30 US states and 8 Canadian Provinces.

Dr. Hisey is a Regional Leader for The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program and serves as senior examiner/adjudicator for both the Music Development Program (USA) and the Royal Conservatory of Music (Canada). A typical year includes hearing and adjudicating 500-800 pianists of all ages. Dr. Hisey has played a major editorial role in the creation of several widely recognized series of piano music books—The Composer Editions, Christopher Norton: Connections for Piano, and Pattern Play: Inspiring Creativity at the Piano.
